One of the most dramatic changes was converting their dark loft into a bright, multi-purpose space with two VELUX 2-in-1 roof windows. This transformation created a home office and gym that blends functionality with natural light.
Transforming spaces with daylight
Moving from an apartment to their first house was a big step for Judith and Victor. They wanted to create a home that felt warm, open, and inviting - a place where their family could grow.
"A home to me is a warm space where I feel free, I can be myself and we can live and grow together," said Judith.
With a baby on the way, the couple began a complete renovation of the entire house from the ground up, finishing by transforming their loft space with two 2-in-1 VELUX roof windows.
“It's amazing - It's such a big difference to what it was before”, said Judith.
Now, their loft serves multiple purposes, functioning as a home office, gym, and even a place to do laundry or play with their baby boy.
Using the loft in so many different ways has also uncovered some new benefits in the way the room feels.
"The best part of getting daylight in here is that it makes the room so much bigger and so much more bright. It's not a cramped room anymore. It's a room where you actually like to sit," said Judith.
Choosing the right roof window solution
When looking for a way to brighten their loft, Judith and Victor wanted a solution that would create more usable space under the sloped roof.
"We chose the 2-in-1 windows because they have one frame and it makes the room look a lot bigger and it is possible to actually use it - to put a desk beneath it and put our workout stuff beneath it as well," said Judith.
Even though the before and after transformation was so dramatic, the entire process of installing the roof windows was quite simple for the family.
"We were actually very surprised that it only took one day to put them in and another day to finish all the details," she said.

Working from home
Like many, Judith has started to work from home more than ever before. As an event coordinator at a large firm, she needed a home workspace to balance the job and family life more effectively.
"Four out of five days I'm at home, so it has to be a comfortable space," she said.
The newly transformed loft space with VELUX roof windows created a quiet home office with a view that brings nature inside.
"Being outside in the sun - that's a little bit how it feels now. It's bright, it's airy. So it feels much better," said Judith.
After a full day of work and a little workout in the adjacent gym area, Judith has a new appreciation for the benefits provided by their loft transformation.
"We work here and we work out here. So, it's important that it has daylight and fresh air," said Judith.
"One of the great features is that we can control the windows with an app. It has sensors that monitor factors like oxygen levels in the room. When needed, we get a notification on our phone saying, "We're ventilating the room', and the windows open automatically to let in fresh air."
